The Ethiopian Society of Sociologists, Social Workers and Anthropologists (ESSSWA) has entered into a project agreement with UNICEF Ethiopia to implement a project titled: Improving Capacities of TVETs, Occupational

Competency Assessment and Certification Centers (OCCACs) and service providing institutions for training and deployment of skilled social service workforce in Addis Ababa, Afar, Amhara, Benshangul Gumuz, Gambella, Oromia, Somali, SNNP, Tigray regions. ESSSW is thus looking for competent project officers who can meet the job requirements outlined below.

Number of Positions: 2 (female applicants are highly encouraged)
Salary: Attractive with good benefit package and previous salary history will be considered.
Duration of Employment: one year contract with possibility of extension

Place of Work: Addis Ababa with frequent field work
Core Competencies:

The Project Officer (PO) is expected to make himself/herself familiar with the full range of, facilitation, mentoring, coaching and supportive supervision responsibilities related to social service workforce training and deployment in Ethiopia. He/she should be familiar with social service workforce (frontline workers in the social services and their supervisors) training through the Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Occupational Competence Accreditation and Certification Agency (OCACA) mechanism. The successful candidate should possess practical knowledge and expertise in child protection and social protection broadly while knowledge and experience in prevention of violence against children, care and support. The position requires working closely with key government partners such as Bureau of Labour and Social Affairs (BoLSA), Bureau of Women and Children Affairs (BoWCA), Bureau of Justice (BoJ), Administration for Refugee and Returnee Affairs (ARRA), border and law enforcement offices. The position holder is also expected to support TVETs and OCACA system strengthening and workforce development activities.

Having prior experiences in facilitation and coordination of workshop and training sessions on social service workforce strengthening in close collaboration with partner organizations will be an asset. Furthermore, ability to carry out activities and deliver results timely including ability to work under pressure with experience in extensive field work will be positively valued.
Required Qualification:
At least B.A. Degree or Masters in Social Work, Sociology and other closely related fields. A minimum of six years or above experience for BA Degree and four years’ or above experience for M.A holder in those fields is a must. Additionally, the candidate should have well-functioning interpersonal, partnership management, organizational and communication skills and should have practical skills in computer application including MS office, SPSS and the like.
